All Students Must Register to Receive a Bus Pass

All students who plan to ride the bus are required to register for a bus pass.  Parents must register all children who plan to ride the bus, whether they qualify for fee-based transportation or not.  All registrations for bus transportation will require online registration, which will be available June 30th.  REGISTER HERE ONLINE beginning June 30th.

New -  You will able to mail in your payment for the bus pass and upon receipt of payment and resulting check clearing, the bus pass will be mailed to your home. ALL BUS PASSES regardless of fee or no fee, will be mailed home the week of August 24th after verification of your address.

Register and purchase your bus pass(es) BEFORE AUGUST 7, 2015 to ensure the passes arrive before the start of school.

WARNING - Passes purchased After August 7th:
  • Purchases by check may be delayed arriving to your home, pending clearing by the bank.

  • CREDIT CARD: You may pay online using a credit card. There is a bank fee of $11 per pass.
  • CHECK: Make checks payable to Westford Public Schools.   To ensure proper credit, write your Bus Registration Number on the memo line of your check OR include a copy of your bus registration form with your payment.
  • CASH - to pay by cash, bring your payment to the Administrative Office at 23 Depot Street (located behind the Abbot Elementary School)

No student will be denied transportation because of qualified financial hardship. To qualify, an approved application for Free/Reduced Lunch must be obtained from the Food Services Office located at 23 Depot Street.  You must apply each school year.

Bus Information:
bus9.jpgThe Westford Public Schools will be charging a school transportation fee for certain students during the 2015-2016 school year.  Any child in grades K-6 whose residence is 2 miles or less from the attending school, and ALL children in grades 7-12, will have to pay a fee for transportation services.  In accordance with Massachusetts School Transportation Statute, any child in grades K-6 whose residence is greater than 2 miles from school will have transportation funded via the school department's budget.  All students who plan to ride the bus, must register to receive a bus pass.  Bus passes will be required to ride the bus.  The fee for one student is $225, two students is $450, and three or more students is $600.  PLEASE SEE OUR FAQ FOR MORE INFORMATION.

These links will help you determine whether or not you are located 2 miles or less from your child's school.  For Blanchard and Stony Brook - this is only for grade 6 students.  Email if you cannot see your street and we will get back to you.

There will be a computer available Monday-Friday, 9 AM-3 PM for you to use to complete your registration at our Administrative Office at 23 Depot Street (located behind the Abbot Elementary School).

Bus passes will be created using the photos from the 2014-2015 school year photos. Students who are new to Westford, who did not have a school photo taken here last year,  AND children who will be starting kindergarten in the Fall of 2015, have two options for pictures:

Option #1
Email a photo of your child with the following information: name of child, grade and school child will be attending in the fall, and parent contact phone number.  Send to Please put in subject line: Bus Pass Photo FY2016.  We will email you when the pass has been mailed.

Option #2:
Mail a photo of your child (it will not be returned to you) with your bus registration receipt. Mail this to: Westford Public Schools, Attn: BUS., 23 Depot Street, Westford, MA 01886. We will email you when the bus pass has been mailed.

STARTING September 8th
Starting September 8th if you have not yet purchased a bus pass, please call Dee Bus at 978-392-8639 to confirm that there is space available on the bus assigned to your child. You will need to provide your address, and the name of the child's school. If space is available on the appropriate bus, you will then be required to register online for a bus pass.  Call Central Office - 978-692-5560 x2100  to arrange bus pass pickup or email

IF YOUR BUS PASS IS LOST - Contact your school office for a short-term temporary pass.  A replacement bus pass will be issued for any lost passes.  A $5 fee will be charged for this service.  Please email ( or call Central Office at 978-692-5560 x2100 to get your replacement pass.  If you call or email, you must provide the following information: child's name, current school, current grade, your contact info and address.
NO TEMPORARY PASS will be issued to meet short term requests due to family situations or to seek bus transportation during inclement weather.


Westford Public Schools offers an early arrival option for K-5 students. For a nominal fee, students enrolled in the program participate in adult supervised activities until the start of the school day. Please note the drop-off times below:
        Grades K-2 - 7:00 AM-8:30 AM
        Grades 3-5 - 7:00 AM -8:15 AM
Children not participating in this option must wait to enter the building no sooner than 10 minutes prior to the start of the school day and must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while waiting.
