Boston Magazine Ranks
Westford Public Schools #8 out of 147
Greater Boston School Districts
As Superintendent of Schools I am very pleased and proud that Boston Magazine has ranked Westford Public Schools #8 out of 147 greater Boston school districts. There are many contributing factors to the excellent quality of our school system. We have an outstanding staff who are extraordinarily dedicated to the academic and social development of every child. Every staff member from preschool through high school contributes to the success of our students. We have a very professional and supportive culture in our school system that encourages collaboration, inquiry, innovation, and professional growth. Additionally, we have excellent students from wonderful families who come to school each day eager to expand their knowledge of the world.
It is important for our tax payers to know that the excellent academic preparation of our students comes at one of the lowest costs per pupil in the state. I thank the residents and town officials who continue to support our schools by providing the resources needed to afford a quality education to Westford students.
Congratulations to everyone! It remains a pleasure and privilege to be your Superintendent.

First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! Initiative
The Chefs Move To Schools program matches chefs with school districts to help schools improve health and nutrition. The chefs adopt a school and work closely with teachers, parents, school nutritionists and administrators. They teach new techniques and recipes for healthier meals that meet the schools' dietary guidelines and budgets. And, they engage young people in learning about nutrition and making balanced and healthy choices.” For more information visit http://www.letsmove.gov/ as well as http://www.chefsmovetoschools.org/ |

Field Trip Cancellation
Field trips are funded via parent donations and provide valuable educational benefits to students. If there is a significant influenza outbreak in our school system, it may be necessary to cancel a field trip at the last minute. Many organizations require prepayment for a field trip and do not offer refunds. Therefore, in the event of a cancellation, a refund to parents may not be possible. If a cancellation occurs and an organization offers a refund, we will
make every effort to reschedule the trip or plan another field trip of equal educational value.
