Where growing minds & nature connect.

Preschool & Elementary Education

Good Pickin’ Farm’s Acres of Fun is a nature-based preschool. The School House is an elementary micro-school.

The focus of our educational community is to encourage a love of learning, exploration and adventure. A large amount of the day is spent outside in nature and among farm animals. We welcome children from the ages of two years nine months to thirteen years old.

We are located in Westford on 85 acres of fields, trails and woods where we learn, play, investigate and work each day. The school uses the farm’s old but renovated Cider House as their home base and indoor classroom in addition to all the farm has to offer outdoors. We have Pickin’s Playground, a woodland play space for creativity and play time, as well as many areas for quiet reflection. The farm is also directly adjacent to over 1000 acres of pristine conservation land with miles of trails leading to MIT Haystack Observatory to explore.

Children are born naturalists, with an innate curiosity and eagerness to learn about themselves and the world around them.

They explore the world with all of their senses, experiment in the environment, and naturally communicate their discoveries to those in their circle.

Children learn best when they are interested and engaged while accompanied by warm, inspiring and nurturing educators. We believe children have the right to an education that fosters respect for each other and the world around them.
